Background & Description

Responsible to technically lead and backstop the implementation of advocacy & campaigning activities at Country Level, establish coordination, facilitate networks of local & international organizations, academia at national, area and field level. The position is expected to bring in interdisciplinary approach and campaign work with a particular focus upon interplay/interaction of climate change policies with planning and development exercises at National, Provincial and District level.

Requirements and Skills
  • Prior experience of people’s centered advocacy (Social Accountability Methodology), policy and governance issues at district, provincial and national level.
  • In-depth knowledge of policies and gaps at district & provincial level.
  • Lobbying and negotiations with government departments and public representatives.
  • Alliance building with CSOs.
  • Public Campaigning.
  • Political Engagements.
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and targets & work together with different sections.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to provide support and training to staff on Social Accountability Methodology.
  • Good research skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package and ability to use the Internet as a work tool.
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Aptitude for quickly grasping new technical concepts
  • Ability and motivation to travel to remote location

 

Education

Ideal candidate should be Graduate/ post graduate degree in social sciences particularly policy and development studies, political science, preferably LAW. Applicants must possess a minimum of 6 years (with Bachelor) /3 years (with Master) of dedicated experience in Advocacy & Campaigning with strong understanding of Programme management.
