Background & Description

Reporting to Country Director, the Communications Officer is responsible for managing communications activities in the country operation both within the organization and to external audiences. The Communications Officer will also be responsible for managing the communication plan and activities in the country. He/she is expected to assist in enhancing the organization’s overall public image in the country. He/she will also provide advice to concerned staff in regards to communications and the RTP brand. The incumbent works closely with program managers and M&E and other staff. Additionally, the Communication Officer will play a key role in proposal development and donor mapping.

D) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
 Strong MS Office and the ability to use PowerPoint Accurate & timely reporting
 Strong in using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
 Strong Budgeting and financial management skills.
 Fluency in English is mandatory.
 Knowledge in Microsoft Project is an asset.
 Strong writing skills are mandatory for this position.
(E) LANGUAGES:
 Fluency in English & Urdu.
III. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (An Asset):
 Advanced University degree in relevant field.
 Graphic design, photography, and printing experience
 Experience writing proposals.
 High degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion.
 Experience working in child protection

Education

A) EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Sciences / Communications/ public relations/ journalism or any
related field.
B) EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, project proposals writing and liaison with Donors including media relations and developing communication plans and material.
