Background & Description

Job description: The position aims to clean the MCH center including washrooms on daily basis regularly & as per need, and also wash bedsheets, pillow cases, towels, dusters and mops regularly. Clean, wash and sterilize the instruments used in OPD & labor room under the supervision of a LHV. Assist LHV in conducting a delivery and dress up the new born. Manage crowd during OPD hours. Make and serve tea to the duty staff and any visitors/guests from the government line departments/partner organization.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Broom and clean MCH center including labor room regularly on daily basis;

·         Clean washrooms thoroughly on regular and daily basis & as per need;

·         Dusting of tables, chairs, cupboards, shelves, beds, equipment etc on daily basis;

·         Empty garbage bins and properly dispose of the waste regularly;

·         Wash MCH centre floor daily in summers and mop up in winters;

·         Clean spider webs in a routine from all over the MCH centre;

·         Conduct a general and thorough cleaning of MCH centre on a weekly basis;

·         Wash bed sheets/pillow cases/towels and dusters on daily basis;

·         Submit a regular consumption report of consumable cleaning items to her supervisor on weekly basis;

·         Submit supply request of cleaning items to FMO at least 5 days in advance to avoid stock rupture;

·         Take proper care of cleaning equipment and handle them gently and carefully;

·         Consume cleaning items carefully to avoid wastage of resources;

·         During cleaning take preventive measures not to damage the MCH Centre equipment/assets;

·         Support LHV in conducting a safe and clean delivery;

·         Handle new born gently and carefully;

·         Clean new born properly with cotton and towel and dress him/her up;

·         After delivery conducted; clean the delivery table, instruments, labor room and dispose of the waste properly;

·         Properly clean, wash and sterilize the equipment/instruments under guidance/supervision of a LHV;

·         Manage crowd during the OPD hours;

·         Make and serve tea to the duty staff and any visitors/guests from government departments/partner organization;

·         Clean utensils, mugs and glass properly after the use & keep them in a cupboard;

Attend staff meetings convened at health facility/project office;
In case of an emergency/incident, immediately report to her supervisor;
Follow proper chain of command and communication lines within the organization;
Any other job related additional task (s) assigned by her supervisor (s)/project office.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements and Skills

Core Qualifications/Requirements:

1.     Primary pass (desirable);

2.     Experience working as a cleaner at least for three (03) years with an INGO;

3.     Speaks Pashto and Urdu;

4.     Ability to work under difficult circumstances;

5.     Honest, committed and flexible in attitude;

6.     A good team player;

7.     Highly committed and motivated person to perform her duties as per job description;

8.     Punctual/regular in her duties being flexible to work according to the needs;

9.     Respect organizational policies/rules and follow them in true soul and spirit;
