Background
  • The Education Officer (Learning) will be in the Sindh Field Office. Education is a major component of the Country Programme, and the Field Office also has a major Education Programme. The Education Officer (Learning) reports to the Education Specialist (Learning) who is at Level 3 (NOC)

    Under the supervision of the Education Specialist (NOC - Learning), the Education Officer (Learning) will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the programming process for foundational learning education programs and projects within the Country Programme. This includes responsibilities spanning from development planning to the delivery of results. The officer will prepare, execute, manage, and implement a range of technical and administrative program tasks to support program development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, with a particular focus on learning design. A key aspect of this role is to support the implementation of the learning-focused System Transformation Grant (STG) funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).

Requirements
  • Minimum requirements:

    • Education: A university degree (bachelor's) in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
    • Work Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required. Experience in learning design and implementation is required.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

    Desirables:

    • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
    • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
    • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset
    • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
