The person should have a passion to work on social development and plan on advancing their career in this sector especially in the fields of Proposal Development, Concept Note Writing, Report Writing, Gathering Business Information, Undertaking research on donors and effective donor engagement. This is a multi-task opportunity with the Funding and Business Development team that requires basic understanding of issues around social development, poverty and human/women’s rights. The main function of the job is to provide support to the F&BD team in execution of its work related to information management, programme design, analysis and reporting. Therefore, we will be keen to hire someone who has some experience (professional/academic) of research on social issues and has logical approach to programming and analytical skills.

Funding and Business Development team members will develop and enhance the intern’s capacity on managing and developing information as well as data and analysis. While working with the team, the intern will gain understanding on the development issues particularly related to poverty and women’s rights at the district, provincial, national and global level.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The person will be responsible to:

  • Provide support to the F&BD manager in writing proposals and concepts notes
  • Provide support to the F&BD manager in capturing key notes from meetings with the donors.
  • Undertake basic desk reviews and analysis as required by the team especially around the work related to OCS mid-term review
  • Help in editing and following-up on progress reports for submission to the donors
  • Provide support in designing and planning trainings and other capacity building events for Oxfam and partners
  • Support work related to the programme management system
  • Support development of database of women rights and poverty in Pakistan
  • To support the PQ team in program related activities, reports collection and review, travel arrangements, event arrangements as and when required.
  • Taking up additional responsibilities given by the line manager from time to time
Requirements and Skills


  • Bachelors or Masters in Business Administration, Development Science, Social Sciences or any other relevant subject
  • Fresh Graduate
  • Excellent English Writing and Spoken skills


  • Fluent in Urdu and English
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Multicultural, gender and sectarian sensitivity
  • Good Interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of computerised systems; good understanding of computer literacy and word processing and excel.
  • Passion to work on development sector in Pakistan
  • Commitment to Oxfam gender policies and code of conduct
