Background
  • Key Responsibilities

    • Supporting the implementation of inclusive policies and procedures in the assigned area of responsibility to avoid systematic biases or discrimination
    • Actively engage in on-going self-reflection and continues to advance their knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion
    • Support to develop engaging and impactful communication materials, including articles, blog posts, social media content, and newsletters with a specific focus on women and persons with disabilities
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure content is accurate, sensitive, and aligned with project objectives
    • Support in taking care of project-related social media accounts, regularly post content to highlight achievements, events, and stories related to women's empowerment and disability inclusion
    • Provide support to monitor engagement, respond to comments, and contribute to building an online community
    • Assist in collecting and sharing success stories (personal and case studies) that showcase the experiences and achievements of project beneficiaries i.e. women and persons with disabilities
    • Support the organization of community engagement events, workshops, and awareness campaigns that focus on the challenges, achievements, and opportunities for women and persons with disabilities
    • Support in translating project materials and content from English to local languages to ensure that project’s key messages reach wider and diverse audiences
    • Assist in maintaining relationships with media outlets and journalists to promote project activities and achievements while ensuring accurate coverage
    • Work closely with project partners, community organizations, and stakeholders to gather information and insights that contribute to effective communication strategies
    • Support in collaborating with designers and multimedia experts to create visually appealing graphics, infographics, multimedia presentations and videos to convey project impact and messages
    • Support to monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies by analysing metrics and generating reports, with the aim to provide insights for future communication initiatives
    • Support in ensuring that all communication materials and activities are sensitive to gender issues and disability considerations, promoting inclusivity and respect
    • Support in the development and execution of communication campaigns that promote gender equality, women's empowerment, and disability inclusion, reaching diverse audiences
    • Support in the creation and maintenance of a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of communication across various platforms and channels
    • Assist in organizing webinars, workshops, and virtual events focused on empowering women and persons with disabilities from planning to technical execution
    • Support in ensuring that all communication materials, including digital content and event materials, are accessible to individuals with disabilities, adhering to web accessibility standards
    • Assist in formulating communication strategies and materials to proactively address any potential challenges or controversies that may arise within the project
    • Support in collaboration with project beneficiaries to collect their feedback and insights
    • Support in the creation of advocacy materials such as policy briefs, fact sheets, and reports that highlight the importance of gender and disability inclusivity in the project's context
Requirements
    • At least bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field
    • At least 1-2 year’s relevant experience in gender related communication or a related field
