Background & Description

Initiative for Peace & Development (IPAD) is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit organization working in Pakistan on the issues associated with peace and development. IPAD is currently recruiting for position in its Multan office. Successful candidates will meet the education and experience requirements mentioned in Job description.

Requirements and Skills

Responsible for all media and communication efforts includes, project activities coverage, media productions and broadcast, text messaging, social media engagement and dissemination, IEC material development, printing and distribution, assist in project reporting. Media & Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring communications and advocacy strategies, managing and coordinating all external project communications. S/He will be responsible for creating partnerships and linkages for dissemination of project activities on electronic and social media. This position will be responsible for promoting and expanding the reach and impact of project activities among the selected audience.

Strategic Communications Role: Develop content for the production of relevant project related communication materials for communities including short audio/videos, success stories, bulletins, one-pagers and other promotional material. Monitor implementation of the communication guide for all external and internal communication materials. Develop external communications material (written and printed), from the design stage all the way to the distribution stage. Provide creative, editorial and operational support for communications initiatives and report on progress. Capture and document the project success stories and good practices. Facilitates knowledge management and communication-related capacity development sessions and sharing of best practices related to the project sustainability. Support to write and publish media releases in accordance with the project work-plan. Develop online communication materials including video content to increase social media visibility for the community. Develop and maintain an updated directory of all stakeholders, key contacts, and government partners from different sectors.

Excellent project management skills, brilliant communication, planning and management, Ability to take initiative and work under pressure. Preferred to work closely or have better understanding with Business Communities, Chambers and Local traders especially in South Punjab, Pakistan.

Education

Relevant qualification plus five years of professional experience.

It is established in 2015 under Trust Act of 1882 with an approach to focus on the issues of peace and development and will see no bounds by working all over Pakistan.

IPAD has implemented various projects in line with the government priorities and follow Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Community awareness campaigns run on choking financing for terrorists and terrorist organizations in Southern Punjab. Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (MoIB) and Pakistan. Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have attended conferences and sessions organized by IPAD. IPAD believes in sustainable development through involvement of all stakeholders.
