The Role

The goal of the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) – Pakistan Project is to support the capacity and activities of local and regional women’s organizations and movements seeking to empower women and girls, advance the protection of women’s and girls’ rights and achieve gender equality. In doing so, Women’s Voice and Leadership-Pakistan aims to assist these organizations and movements in their efforts to eliminate discrimination and rights violations in policy and legislation (including implementation) and the provision of services, as well as harmful social beliefs and practices. The project is led by team lead- Women Voice and leadership under the Gender justice pillar. The PO reports to the Programme Coordinator, Women’s rights expertise, as well as strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills will be key success factors for this position.

What we are looking for 

The WVL- Pakistan Project Officer will support Programme Coordinator in ensuring effective project inception and implementation with overall responsibility for reporting and compliance with the donor contract and requirements. The Team Leader is the external face of the Project and responsible for engagement with partners, stakeholders, including (future) donors and Government. The Project Officer will closely work with program team comprised of Program Officers, MEAL officers and Finance Officer.  The PO will support PC in providing key project processes, ensuring performance, quality and compliance standards are met, manage strategic partnerships and efforts to increase for women’s rights in Pakistan. The PC indirectly contributes to further developing Oxfam in Pakistan’s programming on Gender Justice. The Project Officer will works closely with other project team members.  

Women’s rights expertise, as well as strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills will be key success factors for this position.

Requirements and Skills

Education:
 Masters’ degree in Social Sciences or a relevant degree from a recognised university
 Proven Knowledge of computerised systems and high degree of computer literacy including
Word, Excel, Power Point and statistical software in the collection, analysis and reporting
Experience
 Over 2 years’ experience of working on donor-funded projects in gender justice
 Over 4 years’ experience of working in development sector in Pakistan as project management
 Proven experience of data collection and partnership management.
 Familiar with Gender justice related work.
