Background & Description

This position is based in Representation office Islamabad, Pakistan. The main aim of FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural , fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.


Reporting Lines


Under the overall guidance of the FAO Representative in Pakistan, close collaboration with Assistant FAO Representative (Administration) and Direct Supervision of International logistics expert, the Warehouse Supervisor will carry out the following tasks.

Technical Focus

Follow up and make sure that all FAO warehouse are following the recommended warehouse management standard, training the warehouse staff on stock management and stock control and providing stock management tools in each FAO warehouse.

Tasks and responsibilities
Stock Management
  • Ensure that warehouse best practices standards maintained at all times and guided by standard operations procedure (SOP) e.g. scheduled monthly physical inventory reports, periodic fumigation performed.
  • Ensure that stock management tools developed and implemented in all FAO warehouse locations.
  • Ensure that the use of the stock management tools in place and in use in all the warehouses and that, all records including Ledger books, stock cards, and stock control sheets are accurately updated filled.
  • Undertake the responsibility of vaccines and consumables stocks management role at Islamabad and follow up with all vaccine banks in the provinces.
  • Undertake supervision visits to warehouse facilities and project sites to ensure quality control.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics team lead at the field offices to update continuously the supply movement in each location and produce stock report, distribution reports and physical Inventory reports on weekly and or monthly basis.
  • Prepare warehouse administrative documents contracts, fumigation schedules, warehouse capacities per location, geographical positions and follow up to make sure that at any given time the value of goods in each warehouse are up to date and the warehouses are safe, secure and clean environment.
  • Provide required periodic warehouse bi weekly basis reports with details of stock on hand, levels of non-moving stocks, soon to expire and with up to date and accurate update.
  • Take on other ad hoc logistic and administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Support to FAO Field Operations
  • Work collectively with field team and other relevant staff for better coordination and visibility.
  • Assist with any other logistical support to the field teams.
  • Provide timely accurate information, feedback to relevant stakeholders and FAO field teams.
  • Work collective and effectively with stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain good and open communication channels with all stakeholders.
  • Proactive communication and use of proper communication channels is encouraged.
Requirements and Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in one or more of the following areas is preferred: warehouse management, storekeeping, basic training in warehouse management and computer literacy especially on Microsoft Excel.
  • Five years field experience of working in warehouse management
  • Knowledge and or experience of cold chain logistics  management is added advantage
  • Working knowledge of English and desired local language is essential
