The name of the organization is "Development, Empowerment & Sustainability Solutions Initiatives (DESSI) International" and called/used as "DESSI International". DESSI is a famous Sindhi & Urdu word which means local, indigenous and pure and it stands here for Development, Empowerment & Sustainability Solutions Initiatives (DESSI). DESSI International is a management and delivery non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Pakistan and registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.
DESSI International is a humanitarian organization that works through participatory & inclusive initiatives approach for promotion & innovation of applique arts & crafts, education, women empowerment and social development.
Types of incorporation
a) Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 at Larkana, Sindh
b) Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC since 2017
c) Training Centers are registered with the Trade Testing Board (Sindh) at Karachi
· DESSI International is in the Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC since 2017.
· DESSI International has established official arts & crafts outlet at Larkana (and will expand) for direct market linkage for the women artisans.
· DESSI International has also established two vocational & technical Training Centers (and will expand) at Larkana city and Taluka Miro Khan city of district Kamber Shahdadkot of Sindh province. Training Centers are affiliated/registered with the Trade Testing Board (Sindh) as well.
