Introduction

FLOWER’S is a non-profit, nongovernmental/political organization, striving for the development of oppressed and marginalized communities since 2004.Registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare & Women Development Government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Province – Pakistan, under the Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control Ordinance 1961). FLOWER’S is a participatory organization, which draws its strength from the communities by empowering them through, sustainable, self-controlled and enlightened approaches and encouraging them to strive for a positive change based on genuine community needs. In collaboration with various civil society actors, humanitarian agencies and with self-initiatives, FLOWER’S has been contributing efficiently for the vulnerable communities.

FLOWERS has also rendered services in the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction phases of developmental process for the exposed and vulnerable communities of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa in the national emergencies like 2005 earth quake, IDP’s crisis of 2008 and floods of 2010. FLOWERS has established strong roots in the communities and is working as an umbrella organization for a number of a community Organizations (COs), Interest Group with committed human resource.  Apart from its emergency response and developmental interventions, FLOWERS is an active clusters partner and is registered with the provincial disaster risk reduction (DRR) forum and National humanitarian network (NHN).

A peaceful, healthier, skilled, educated, tolerant and just society, where people can live with dignity and can freely exercise their basic human rights.

 

Mission
To release the potential abilities, skills and knowledge of deprived, neglected and underprivileged men, women and children, to enable them to articulate their aspirations and to effectively organize the resources they need to meet their identified needs. The purpose is poverty alleviation - enabling people to break the cycle of poverty, which begins with lack of opportunities. The process is social mobilization - bringing people together on new terms for a common purpose. The conceptual tools are 'social guidance' (recruiting local men and women who will take on a leadership role), advocacy, capacity building and awareness raising. The programmatic tools are trainings, awareness raising programs, support to institutions, infrastructure development and 'productive linkages’.

 

Objective
To motivate, mobilize, sensitize and promote the spirit of child and adolescent protection amongst the duty bearers through an integrated interventions.
To built the capacities of most at risk young girls and boys so that they can cope in a better way with the day-to-day demands and challenges of life and enable them for making collective and informed decision regarding their future,  maintain a state of social, mental and physical well being.
To built capacity and skills of the communities for undertaking sustainable socio-economic initiatives in accordance with their local culture and traditions.
To raise the awareness of women and adolescent girls on the health and hygiene issues specifically focusing on the motherhood challenges, reproductive and maternal care.
To provide and support partnership in private sector to local, regional, national and international organizations for community development.
Facilitate and empower the communities to cope up with various natural and manmade disasters.
