Health and Rural Development Services Foundation, an NGO with activities across all the provinces of Pakistan, was established in April, 1992. Initially registered under voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Act, 1961 DDSW-LD/92-417(23rd April 1992) as Human Resource Development Society (HRDS). Now it has been registered with Section 42, Companies Ordinance 1984 and regulated by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on 12th June, 2014, Corporate Universal identification No. 0089419.

HRDS Foundation works for the development and prosperity of deprived rural communities especially women and children without any discrimination of caste, colour, creed, culture, sect and religion or ethnic discrimination. Due to sound internal governance, financial management and program delivery, Health and Rural Development Services Foundation build trust with leading National and International Organizations and Donors.

Since its establishment, apart from attaining wide ranging expertise in Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH), Health and Rural Development Services Foundation has worked on a multi-sectoral community driven program on Education, Mother Newborn and Child Health, Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI), Emergency Response and Early Recovery, and Social mobilisation and Institutional Development through partnerships with international and national organizations viz. International Rescue Committee IRC, ACTED (French NGO), Punjab Skill Development Fund PSDF and Pujab Saaf Pani Company PSPC.

Health and Rural Development Services Foundation is geographically stretched to Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Sindh, Baluchistan province, FATA & Azad Jammu & Kashmir(AJK) - District Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Larkana, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal I Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, I Khyber Agency, Mohmand Agency I and all districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK).

Objective
The strategic objective of Health and Rural Development Services Foundation is to enable communities to plan, implement and manage development assistance programs through countrywide network of community groups at grassroots level for improving the quality of life. The specific objectives are:

Provision for safe drinking water, improved sanitation, hygiene promotion, primary education, maternal & new born health and primary health care.
Focus on bringing a positive behavioural change regarding health & hygiene in children as the main target group.
Enhance the capacity of government officials, stake holders and communities in different areas of social development especially women to consider their contribution in community development activities.
Enhance the implementation capacity of project partners as well as communities to enable them to undertake village level development activities on an individual &/or collective basis.
Establish linkages with Govt. agencies and other NGOs / COs having common objectives for optimal utilization of available resources for community development.
Raising awareness and foster cooperation in the communities through organizational networking at grassroots level.
Empower the communities through self-reliance approach for long term sustainability
