Introduction

HOPES (Help of Patients in Exigency by Students) is a distinguished Non-Governmental Organization; founded in 1995 by students of the Karachi Medical & Dental College; in affiliation with Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) located in Karachi's District Central; under the auspices of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Since its inception, HOPES aims to assist patients in need and support them during challenging times.

As an organization rooted in student leadership, HOPES takes pride in its accreditations and certifications from esteemed institutions, including the Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy (PCP), Social Welfare, Shariah Compliance, Sindh Charity Commission (SCC), tax exemption under section 2(36)C, accreditation by Al-Hamd Shariah Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, and registration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

HOPES executes its functionality in 'Room 41' where free of cost medicinal facilities are catered to underprivileged patients via student volunteers. Moreover, three-fully equipped pharmacies and a diagnostic laboratory operate as affordable and sustainable domains under HOPES.

Throughout its journey, HOPES remains dedicated to its mission of improving healthcare accessibility for those in need. Understanding the dire situations faced by patients, HOPES remains steadfast in its route of continual enhancement and prosperity, ensuring that quality healthcare remains within reach for all.
