Registered with the Government of Pakistan under Company Ordinance 1984, during September 2011, the Network of Disaster Management Practitioners (NDMP) is pouring valuable contribution in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction with a vision towards “endeavouring community resilience and sustainable development through participatory approach”. NDMP shares expertise in all spectrum of the Disaster Management through a network of experienced, devoted and highly skilled Disaster Management Practitioners from all over the countries. NDMP is aiming to link all DRR practitioners through training, organizational cooperation, exposure visits, conferences, seminars and symposium etc.
The contemporary global development challenges including disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation are still at a developing stage in Pakistan. Although, last decade witnessed an extraordinary period of improvements in disaster risk management (DRM) system and institutions in the country, however, the persistent and recurring disaster losses in past years are indicative of a need for extensive and urgent improvements in these emerging themes. In this regard, NDMP is trying to put valuable contribution and achieved remarkable milestones in the field of DRM with the collaborative support of different National and International Partners including; Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) Thailand; National Society of Earthquake Engineering (NSET) Kathmandu Nepal; Food and Agriculture Organizations (FAO) Pakistan; World Food Programme (WFP) Pakistan; United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Malteser International Pakistan; CARITAS Pakistan; International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) Pakistan; ACTED Pakistan; SDC Pakistan; UN-HABITAT Pakistan; Care International; World Vision Pakistan; Muslim Aid Pakistan; Islamic Relief Pakistan; Doaba Foundation Pakistan; D-WHH; Concern World Wide (CWW); Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh Provinces and State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) AJ&K.
