Olive's Trust Pakistan

Olive's Trust Pakistan (OTP) is a mission-drive, non-sectarian, non-political and non-profit charitable Trust, founded on the principles of volunteerism, sustainable social entrepreneurship (SSE) and self-help approaches. OTP stands on its core values of Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Inclusiveness and Humility. With SSE and volunteerism as the key approaches, OTP exists to undertake research, education, humanitarian, developmental & social welfare programs to materialize its vision of a “pluralist and just world free of sufferings and fears”.

OTP was established and registered in July 2005 under Trust Act 1882 of the government of Pakistan in district Haripur by a dedicated group of highly motivated and committed individuals including women and youth led by Mr. Qazi Kabir Ahmed Hashmi (Founding President - OTP) a passionate social entrepreneur, philanthropist, and development practitioner.

Inspired by her lifelong educational, vocational development and welfare services to the poor neighborhood especially the women, the name and logo commemorates Zaitoon Bi Bi (Late) the mother of OTPs founding president. Olive also depicts the vision and mission of the organization endeavoring to promote peaceful coexistence among nature and society on the mother earth.

OTP takes seriously the principles of community led development to sustainably transform millions of lives across various sectors and strongly advocates for rights based participatory approaches to development from policy to practice and vice versa.

OTP helps people, organizations and leaders to come together and lead a positive & sustainable change in behaviors, attitudes, practices and policies towards prioritizing and combating social problems by organizing them at grass root, regional and national level. OTP triggers this social change process through social dialogues, spiritual motivation, awakening and mobilizing the actors through testing & innovating development models with an active use of various, print, electronic, IPC  and social media tools and techniques.

Based on its self-reliance and social entrepreneurship philosophy, OTP has successfully tested itself and existed for thirteen (13) years since 2005 without any direct donor funded projects or support, instead it preferred Local Philanthropy and SSE/SSI projects like OAKS Schools System and Olive’s Clinics, Consulting Services and Partnerships etc.
