Rabt Development Organization -RDO

Rabt Development Organization (RDO) is registered under Societies Act of 1860 in 2007. Rabt Development Organization is a non-governmental and non-political humanitarian and development Organization which has been established to contribute towards sustainable development by working in unison with national and international development organization and government. RDO in its drive for sustainable development has been working towards enabling citizens to reach their potentials; irrespective of class, gender, ethnic origin, religion, or race. In the year 2007 RDO was established and worked with the partnership of different donor’s agencies most prominent are UNDP, USAID, UNOCHA, World Vision KPK Government and PPAF.Currently RDO implementing two project with the financial assistance of PPAF in district Battagram and UNOCHA in Tribal District South Waziristan.  RDO in years 16-17 implemented a project with USAID on energy sector (Home based solar energy systems)  in district Mansehra of Battakundi which is closed on dated 31 Dec 2017.During the project home based solar energy systems were provided to most electricity vulnerable 140 HH of Battakundi of district Mansehra. From last 7 decade people of Battakundi were facing electricity problem because of many reasons, one is negligence’s of their local representatives and area is completely negligible by the government in term of the provision of power and other one is sparse population which causes unfeasibility for Micro Hydel Power Plants (MHP) which added more misery to the region. The area is vulnerable in term of high poverty, less income, poor health and low education. The community feels quite unsafe and disables to perform necessary home household tasks after sun set.

In year 2015-16 RDO implemented a project with UNOCHA on WASH in FATA for refugees. In this project RDO rehabilitate and reconstructed their infrastructures which were demolished due to their internal displacement because of operation against militancy. After their shifting back to their hometown UNOCHA decided for their mainstreaming through WASH related activities and RDO selected for this intervention.

In 2010-11, RDO implemented (WASH) project for six months in 04 UCs of District Shaheed Benazirabad of Sindh Province in collaboration with WHO and Government of Sindh. Since 2010-2011& 12 RDO remained key partner of UNDP for at least three significant projects in district Kohistan and Shangla on community mobilization, capacity building, local governance, social cohesion, community based physical infrastructure, restoration of livelihoods, and vocational skills training. RDO disbursed PKR 101.33 million under these UNDP projects. In year 2009 RDO conducted base line survey and situation analysis of child rights in 19 union councils of District Mansehra. In 2008 RDO organized medical camps for local communities in Siran Valley and in addition organized a Marketing Training for Women Craft Groups with the financial assistance WVP. After establishment of Rabt Development Organization, RDO made her first assignment with World Vision and carried out detailed needs assessment of Tehsil Oghi and Tehsil Balakot. On the basis of the data World Vision implemented its five year development program in district Mansehra. In the year 2008, RDO again worked in partnership with World Vision on basic health and hygiene Training. During the said project 20 male and 20 female community organizations were made and were given health and hygiene training.
