Root Work Foundation (RWF) is an emerging civil society organization (CSO) of Pakistan. It was started by a group of dedicated volunteers in the year 2002 as a small community organization which is widely recognized today as a vibrant and committed organization. RWF, through its various program interventions, has supported approximately (0.195 Million) families or (1.393 Million) individuals in the country in their effort to have means of survival and protection of their dignity.
RWF is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan and people-centered organization. It strongly believes in working closely with its target groups without any discrimination and recognizes all human rights as enshrined in Constitution of Pakistan, UDHR, CRC and CEDAW.
Having education and violence against women (VAW) as its core focus during early years of its establishment; RWF then broadened its focus with the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Food Security and Sustainable Livelihoods, Shelter, WASH & Physical Infrastructure, Human Rights and Climate Change as its areas of work. RWF has implemented a number of projects in different districts under these programs making it able to genuinely address the basic socio-economic and strategic needs of marginalized people living in less developed areas in the country.
RWF has successfully implemented about (50) projects in (20) districts, (70) tehsils, and (251) Union Councils of Sindh and Balochistan Provinces of Pakistan. Through these projects, RWF was able to assist large number of families for getting education, livelihood opportunities, proper shelter, and promotion of their basic rights.
Having recognized as a vibrant, responsive and committed civil society organization, RWF actively engages in different forums and networks and raises its voice for promotion of human rights of people and addressing the factors keeping them marginalized and disadvantaged. RWF is closely associated with many relevant networks and forums at national and international levels. It has also greatly contributed to strengthen rights-based civil society networks in Pakistan such as National Humanitarian Network (NHN) etc.
The partners who assist RWF financially and technically during implementation of various program interventions are greatly acknowledged for extending their unending support to RWF.
