Rural Community Development Society-RCDS

Registered in 1998, RCDS is a community-based development organization which implements different programs and projects at grassroots level aimed at improvement in the lifestyle of the poor and marginalized segments of society, especially women for improved and sustained livelihood opportunities.

Taking forward as a mission, RCDS is a dedicated institution for poverty alleviation and empowering marginalized, deprived, oppressed and neglected communities through integrated development program. It believes that women empowerment and social transformation is only possible through ensuring effective and efficient participation of marginalized communities in grassroots development.

RCDS core objective is to empower vulnerable communities to such an extent that they are empowered and take control of their own development and take informed decisions for their communities' welfare. It is the result of dedicated and committed efforts of RCDS that most of the community-based organizations formed by RCDS over the last one decade have become independent institutions at the local level. Using RCDS platform, they have developed linkages and partnership with many other mainstream national and international donor agencies to receive funds for sustainable development.

Working in over 172 union councils of 14 marginalized districts of Pakistan, RCDS is an apex institution for poverty reduction through provision of health, education, skills & enterprise development training, infrastructure development, livelihood enhancement and provision of microcredit facilities to help people eke out their living and improve their lifestyle.

Striving to bring social change through empowering the poor and grassroots communities through meager available resources and scarce funding, RCDS comprises a team of dedicated professionals who are really driven by the spirit of service to the marginalized and under-privileged segments of the society. RCDS has presence in 14 district of the Punjab province including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, Fasialabad, Narowal, Okara, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh,Multan, Layyah, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bakhhar where it has implemented multi-sectoral projects in the areas of infrastructure development, microfinance, institutional development, capacity building, skills development, health and education.
