Social Welfare Society / Islahee Committee Kanju is a registered organization established in 1979. This organization is mandated for improvement of Social, Educational and Health status of civil society. In 1969, the state of Swat merged in Pakistan, the people of Swat were not familiar with the existing state laws and thus law and order situation remained uncertain for a longer time. Tribal disputes were common that led to long lasting conflicts, social clashes, enmities, demoralization of society which put the communities in a state of frustration and away from social and moral development. The traditional Jirga system was not often trusted for the guilt of favoritism, political affiliation and ethnic class pressure. Keeping in view the prevailing circumstances it was realized to create a mobilized and socially organized group of volunteers who are motivated with a sense of development, social reforms and trusted by local people having no personal benefits and political or financial interests.
Keeping in view the spirit of volunteerism and social development, Social Welfare Society / Islahee Committee Kanju Swat Pakistan was formed in a democratic manner. During early days of establishment the organization faced hardships and barriers to overcome, but courageous efforts finally provided success for the establishment of Social Welfare Society/ Islahee Committee Kanju to mediate for social development of local communities.
