Social Youth Council of Patriots (SYCOP) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization, which was registered in 1996 under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961. It is working to prevent gender based violence and to awaken, systematize and activate the communities for realization of human development efforts, focusing on the rule of law and increasing attention towards policy and law reform in the form of investments in justice, peace and strengthening of democratic institutions through advocacy and human rights educational programs. SYCOP was established as a self-financed initiative taken by a group of volunteers for the betterment of socio-economic spheres of the motherland, especially in the Southern Punjab.
The organization’s objectives are to provide opportunities for learning in order to advance multi-cultural education, health and social justice; to promote democratic norms in the society by taking gender free initiatives and to promote public awareness and public education on environment, especially disaster risk reduction.
