Support With Working Solution (SWWS) was established in 1992. It was registered with the social welfare Department, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Pakistan, and also applied for registration to SECP under section 42 of Companies act, bearing registration No.DSW/NWFP/692.
SWWS is non-profit organization working with community driven development in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJK, PATA and FATA since 1992. SWWS enjoys facilitation and support from the Government, PPAF, DFID, SDC, Aus-AID, OXFAM-GB, UNDP, UNFPA, UNHCR, NATPOW and USAID . Outreach now extends throughout KPK and its micro credit, water & Infrastructure, health & Education, emergency response interventions including disability have been widely recognized.
Reproductive health of women was the starting point. Cultural barriers bowed to zeal and determination of our ‘all female’ field teams. As of December 2009, SWWS has provided reproductive health services to 155000 women in 220 villages out of five districts.
In 1997 Credit Enterprise Development (CED) became our second area of intervention. In our CED intervention, we support poor women in increasing their incomes through training and linkages facilitation.
Education was the third area of intervention as SWWS team felt it necessary to empower poor. Besides striving to educate rural women, SWWS is operating 12 schools for Urban Working and Indigent Children in Mardan City. While on other hand SWWS worked for 100% literacy and established 86 communities based schools and hired 120 feeder teachers in different district of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
