Introduction

Sustainable Roots for Prosperity (SRP) Welfare Association is an emerging civil society organization (CSO) in Sindh, Pakistan. It was started by a group of dedicated volunteers in 2014 as a small community organization widely recognized today as a vibrant and committed organization. SRP, through its various program interventions, has supported approximately 20,000 individuals in the Kashmore district in their effort to have means of survival and protection of their dignity.

SRP is a not-for-profit, welfare, and people-centered organization. It strongly believes in working closely with its target groups without any discrimination and recognizes all human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan.

Having Sustainable Development of deprived communities as its core focus during the early years of its establishment; SRP then broadened its focus with Research and education, Agriculture and Livelihoods, Nutrition and Mother & child healthcare (MNCH), Environment and climate change, General protection and skill development, Shelter, WASH & Emergency Response as its areas of work. SRP has not implemented donor-funded projects yet but the SRP team has carried out volunteer activities with groups and individuals for the development of sustainability of the Community.

Having been recognized as a vibrant, responsive, and committed civil society organization, SRP actively engages in different forums and networks and raises its voice for the promotion of human rights of people and addressing the factors keeping them marginalized and disadvantaged. SRP is closely associated with many relevant networks and forums at national levels.
