Wasila Welfare Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and social development organization which was registered with Social Welfare Department, Punjab in 1981 under Registration & Control Ordinance, 1961 & Punjab Charity Commission. This organization is a forum of social activists and development professionals. Since inception the foundation has been striving hard for the total development of the community, especially the poor and marginalized by integrating all the elements and resources of the community.
Wasila’s OVERALL OBJECTIVES
• To ensure quality education and basic health facilities for all segments of society especially in rural areas.
• To increase awareness to reduce child labor, child abuse, child trafficking and violation of child & women rights and to provide primary health care facilities, such as mother-child health centers in deprived rural areas.
• To make every possible efforts to control/manage the situation arising out of natural calamities like flood, earthquake, draught, epidemic etc. and to provide necessary relief to the victims.
• To promote and secure poor people's rights and access to safe drinking water, improved hygiene and sanitation and to work for achieving the status of Open Defecation Free (ODF) district of the Punjab.
• To strive & enable Disabled Persons to be useful & self-sufficient & to develop effective cooperation & understanding between the Disabled & Normal Persons.
• Encouraging sustainable agricultural and livestock development and organic farming and to act as a platform for sharing of information and its dissemination amongst farming communities.
