Zwanan Development Organization (ZDO)

Zwanan Development Organization (ZDO) is a Non-Governmental Organization committed to helping the underprivileged communities throughout Pakistan, including FATA (Federally Administered Triable Area), AJK (Azad Jammu Kashmir) and Gilgit Baltistan. ZDO is registered with Government of KPK and also with Government of Pakistan under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961 and with Directorate of Social Welfare, FATA. ZDO has also been granted a certificate of “Allowed to Work” status by the Ministry of SAFRON (State and Frontier Region) Government of Pakistan.

ZDO intervenes both in disaster and non-disaster situations, aiming for the sustainable development of marginalized communities. Since its registration in June, 2010, ZDO has directly and indirectly implemented different research and implementation projects on large and small scale in Pakistan. ZDO has undertaken its projects in areas of Health, Education, Livelihood, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Human Rights, Peace and Development, Human and Institutional Development, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The organization has also contributed in Emergency Relief, Recovery, Rehabilitation and Development of Rural and Urban communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), FATA, Baluchistan and Punjab provinces.
