Introduction

United Global Organization of Development-UGOOD is a non-profit, non-political and non-Government organization, duly registered with the Government of Pakistan under Trust Act 1882 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The organization was registered on June 3rd, 2003 with the ambition to strive for the sustainable human developments by working in the areas of Child Rights/Protection as its core value, Health, Education, WASH, SRHR, Women Economic Empowerment, Youth Development, Peace Building, and Disaster Management & Relief.

UGOOD is a local NGO, having head office in Islamabad and representative offices in all major parts of the country. While working for the betterment of human beings at all levels, UGOOD has also taken various initiatives to develop cooperation and linkage between various Social Sectors and Community Organizations in the undeveloped and neglected areas of Pakistan so that the organizations belonging to these areas may be given a voice to raise the particular issues of their specific areas. By optimizing resources and sharing vital information, UGOOD provides a means for CSOs/NGOs to become more effective in completing their vital tasks.

The UGOOD has been awarded with “Tax Exemption Certificate” by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) – Government of Pakistan.

Currently UGOOD is hosting a National Secretariat of “Child Rights Movement-CRM” one of the largest network of National and International Child focus Organizations that working all across the country including FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB). CRM is a group of civil society organizations which was established with a mission to create an enabling environment for the children through collective advocacy on Child Rights issues. CRM’s objective is to deal exploitative and abusive situation of children in Pakistan, a group of like-minded NGOs realized that there is an urgent need to start a Child Rights Movement in the country to tackle the widespread violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of Children.

UGOOD is also hosting a National Secretariat of “National Action and Coordination Group-NACG” National Action and Coordinating Group against Violence against Children (NACG) is established in each South Asia Country (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) and linkages are developed to the regional South Asia Coordinating Group on Action against Violence against Children (SACG). The purpose is to strengthen inter-agency work including with Governments and Children Groups to end violence against children. NACG is composed of UN agencies, multi-lateral and bi-lateral agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations and children’s (girls and boys) and young people’s group.

Mission
To strive for the sustainable human development by working in the areas of Child Protection, Youth Development, Women Economic Empowerment, Health, Education and Disaster Management and Relief.

 

Objective
One of the main objectives of UGOOD is to alleviate poverty among the Rural Women through Technical Skill Development, Training and Development of Home Based Women Workers and creating Market linkages to improve Marketability and Competitiveness of their Products.
Undertake skill development programs for Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) and establish Vocational Training Centers and Industrial Homes for the socio-economic development of women from vulnerable and unprivileged communities with the approach to eradicate poverty by providing those employable skills, facilitation for home based income generating activities and developing market linkages.

Increase capacity and educate Young people especially adolescent girls and young women to make or influence decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) to prevent Early Marriages, Teenage Pregnancies and health complexities.

Empower all young people (especially girls) to develop and sustain the knowledge, attitudes, capacities, skills and behaviors needed to make healthy choices about sexuality and reproduction.
Improve Hygiene behavior through awareness campaigns and ensure people have access to save water supply and sanitation services. Advocate for legislative reforms and coordination with Government on the development of WASH Policies and Action Plans.

Improve access to health facility for deprived community and organize medical camps, vaccination and screening especially for Youth regarding the prevention of HIV/Aids, TB, Malaria and Hepatitis through awareness raising campaigns, print & Electronic media, trainings, workshops, seminars, Forums and other informal means.
Promote and protect Child Rights by empowering, educating and providing them protective and caring environment through awareness raising and advocacy campaigns.

Advocate for policy and legislative reforms and build pressure groups by networking with national and international civil societies to empower and protect the Children Rights.
Design and execute programs by promoting Volunteerism for emergency disaster relief and rehabilitation in case of natural or human calamity.
