Awards for NGOs and Social Enterprises in Pakistan | PAK-NGOs
Description

IATC looks to empower organizations to make a large and sustainable impact in the social sector of Pakistan. Their aim is to bring to light two categories of social change: social development by not-for-profit organizations and social enterprises that work under a sustainable business model.

The winners will be informed mid-November and the announcement will be made public in the following weeks at a media meet in Karachi. This will be followed by a closing ceremony attended by the Engro management team as well as many prominent personalities from the development sector. The winners may also be asked to attend two events at the Engro Head Office in Karachi and at the Engro Fertilizers Ltd Office at Daharki, Ghotki.
 
Award Categories
 
IATC Impact Awards are given in two categories, social development and social enterprise.
  1. IATC Impact Award for Social Development: This category is applicable to nonprofit organizations and non-government organizations.
  2. IATC Impact Award for Social Enterprise: This category is applicable to social enterprises. They define a social enterprise as an organization that aims to create a social/environmental impact through a financially sustainable way and has a revenue generating mechanism in place.
Award Information
 
Each category has the same winning amount; PKR 2 Million.  The winner of the IATC Impact Award in Social Enterprise will also be awarded in a mentorship program with a reputed organization i.e. Seed Ventures, Innovate2Invest.
Eligibility

 

  • The IATC Impact Award in Social Development: The organization must:
    • Be registered for at least 5 years
    • Have audited accounts for at least 3 years
    • Be a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or Non-Profit Organization (NPO)
    • Have an operational cost in the range of PKR 5 to 150 million per annum
    • The organization can apply to only one category – either for the award in Social Development or Social Enterprise
    • The winner of IATC award cannot reapply for the next 5-years
    • Any company associated or linked with Engro cannot apply
    • Organizations recognized by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy will be given bonus points. Organizations must share their registration certificate or documents to show that registration is in process
    • In applicants’ application, please address the following questions:
      • What is the main social problem their organization is trying to tackle and why?
      • What approach is their organization taking to tackle the problem? Please highlight the thought process (e.g. logical framework, theory of change), methodology, and implementation plans.
      • What has their organization achieved thus far? Please include impact numbers and specific examples to support their answer
      • Which areas of Pakistan does their organization work in and what challenges do they face?
      • What is the impact of their organization? Please provide numbers and statistics.
      • Please share details about the running cost (annual) of their organization/initiative. Please provide cost per beneficiary.
      • Can this initiative be replicated or scaled up to other geographic locations in Pakistan? Please share details of how this can be done.[Applicants must restrict their answers to a maximum of 1500 words in total]
  • The IATC Impact Award in Social Enterprise
    • The organization must be at least a year old
    • The organization can apply to only one category – either for the award in Social Development or Social Enterprise
    • The winner of IATC cannot reapply for the next 5-years
    • Any company associated or linked with Engro cannot apply
