Background
  • Under the overall guidance of the Representative, the Chief of Field Operations will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and monitoring of the Pakistan Country Programme activities in the field through the provision of strategic guidance, oversight and coordination of programme interventions at provincial and sub-provincial levels so as to ensure that the rights of children and women are upheld by duty bearers and rights holders in Pakistan. The Chief Field Operations is also responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF Pakistan's emergency preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction (ORR).

Requirements
    • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in international development, social sciences, public administration, public affairs, international relations, political science, business administration and any other related fields.
      A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. This is applicable to internal (FT, Continuing and Permanent) staff only.
    • Work Experience: At least 10 years of progressively relevant professional experience. Developing country work experience, background/familiarity with emergency/humanitarian preparedness and any other related fields.
    • Skills: strategic leadership, programme management, financial oversight, stakeholder coordination, emergency response, policy advocacy.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

    Desirables:

    • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
    • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
