Fellowship Overview
The Graduate Fellowship Program has launched its applications to support travel and living expenses for graduate students from Asia pursuing full-time, in-residence arts and culture degrees in the United States.
The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Graduate Fellowship foster international cultural exchange by enabling graduate students from Asia to pursue advanced academic training in the arts and cultural fields in the United States. By supporting students to study in environments where comparable programs are not available or are underrepresented in their home countries, the fellowship aims to broaden scholarly narratives and critical discourse in the arts.
Fellows benefit from immersion in a new cultural context, gaining exposure to diverse perspectives and ideas beyond the classroom. The program also connects recipients to the ACC’s global network of artists, scholars, and institutions, offering opportunities for professional growth and engagement with the broader arts community.
Each Graduate Fellowship provides $15,000 USD for one academic year to cover travel and living expenses during the coursework phase of a full-time, in-residence graduate program in the United States. The grant may be renewed for a second year, subject to ACC’s review and approval. Funding does not cover tuition, research costs, or expenses related to the research/thesis phase.
Applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of eligible Asian countries, be enrolled in or admitted to a full-time, in-residence graduate program in the U.S. in one of ACC’s 16 eligible disciplines, and be in the coursework phase of their studies. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible. Fellows must complete at least two consecutive semesters of full-time coursework during the grant period and hold a valid student visa (ACC does not sponsor visas).
