Background
  • Key Responsibilities

    • Actively engage in on-going self-reflection and continue to advance their knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion
    • Develop and implement inclusive suitable methodological approaches in the assigned area of responsibility to avoid systematic biases or discrimination
    • Serve as key focal point for the coordination and cooperation of the programme with the EU Delegation (EUD) in Islamabad
    • Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports to the EUD
    • Collect and consolidate inputs from the project team to reports and comments/inquires from the EUD on the reports
    • Schedule, prepare and protocol regular meetings with the EUD
    • Jointly with the M&E team, provide upon request timely information about the status of project implementation to the EUD as well as its contracted monitoring and evaluation teams
    • Serve as focal point for the coordination and cooperation with the British Council, as co-implementing agency of the multi-partnership cooperation agreement (MPCA) with the EU
    • Schedule, prepare, facilitate and protocol management team meetings between GIZ and British Council
    • Schedule, prepare and protocol meetings of the project steering committee at the national level and project implementation committees at the provincial level in KP, Baluchistan and GB
    • Assist the Programme Managers in coordinating with the Germany Embassy in Pakistan and KfW
    • Assist in identifying synergies and coordinate with other development projects within the Sustainable Economic Development, Training and Employment (SEDTE) cluster, GIZ Pakistan and GIZ globally
    • Assist the Prorgramme Managers in identifying synergies and coordinating with other donors
    • Provide inputs on the best ways of collaboration with multifaceted stakeholders at different levels
    • In collaboration with regional key account managers, maintain close liaison with public and private organizations working across the focus regions to seek complementarities under the joint action
    • Maintain and further improve coordination and communication structures, instruments and processes that enable a professional cooperation of the project with EUD, British Council and if necessary, other partners
    • Advise the Programme Managers and Programme Component Managers on the planning and implementation of project activities in accordance with the requirements of the EUD, specifically on governance structures and mechanisms proposed in the Description of the Action
    • Propose pro-actively necessary modifications of the project’s approach, whether technical or financial
    • Responsible, in tandem with the communication advisor, for the well-coordinated organisation, implementation and documentation of (high-level) events
Requirements
    • Master’s degree in social/political science, Public Administration or economics or relevant field
    • At least 10 years professional experience in a comparable/similar position
