Program Manager (Polio Team) Verified listing

The incumbent will be responsible for the work of Polio Eradication Team in the Karachi office by advising and supervising them and facilitating their work. He/she will make independent decisions on corrective actions necessary to achieve the objective in his/her area of responsibility. He/she supports the programme to undertake all priority activities towards stopping polio transmission in Pakistan as guided by the Technical Advisory Group and in alignment within the GPEI strategy.

Education:

• An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Social behaviour change communications, communications, Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.

Work Experience:

• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience and proven track record in leading large SBCC programmes and projects is required.
• Demonstrated experience working in the polio eradication programme is required given the emergency nature of the role.
• A proven track record in managing large teams and overseeing resources are essential.

Desirables:

• Background/familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
• Experience working in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or local language is an asset.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in English is required.
