Bright Star Development Society Balochistan -BSDSB

Bright Star Development Society Balochistan (BSDSB) is a National non-profit, non-political and humanitarian organization. BSDSB has been working from the last 20 year in Sibi, Kachhi (Bolan), Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad and Sohbatpur Districts of Balochistan. In any emergency and need based BSDSB works in other parts of Balochistan and on National level. BSDSB working thematic areas are Social Mobilization, Advocacy, Health Education, Emergency response and preparedness, NFIs, Shelter, WASH, Food security and Livelihood support, GBV and Human Rights. Gender and environment is cross cutting themes of organization and reflects in all organizational Programs and Projects. BSDSB has their offices in Jaffarabad, Sibi and Quetta and has professional staff and volunteers in their working target areas. BSDSB has a large experience of implementation of Development and emergency response and preparedness projects. BSDSB has their complete policies and procedures for implementation of Programs and projects included Procurement, logistics, Human resource, Finance and administration, Program planning, Monitoring and evaluation, Security and safety, Child protection, Gender, HIV/AIDS, Code of conduct, Emergency Response, Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM), Advocacy, Funds/resources mobilization policies and 5 years organizational strategic plan. BSDSB has developed and printed Training material and Modules for different trainings and other social mobilization events.
BSDSB works in disaster prone areas and districts of Balochistan and BSDSB has also vast experience in working emergencies, BSDSB has responded the major flood emergencies in Balochistan included floods 2007, 2010, 2012, implemented projects in Naseerabad, Jaffrabad, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi and Sibi districts of Balochistan province with collaboration of National and International Donors and Humanitarian organizations. Responded the Complex Emergency in Bannu and North Waziristan Agency and constructed 950 Transitional shelters for TDPs/IDPs families with the support of Concern Worldwide Pakistan/OFDA-OFDA. BSDSB has experience of relevant implementation of projects in emergencies and during these emergencies responded and reached the more than 50000 affected families through different projects and interventions. In 2001 and 2002 BSDSB has also responded the Drought emergency in Balochistan with the support of CRS and Oxfam GB. BSDSB is also working in Jacobabad and Kashmore districts of Sindh Province and implementing a project on Construction of Low Cost Houses and WASH facilities with the financial support of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Housing Cell (SBBHC) Government of Sindh. BSDSB has strong linkages with Provincial and Local Government and also with community of the working target area.
