Background
  • Key Responsibilities

    Main Activities:

    • Lead the implementation of the Adaptive Social Protection (ASP) project in Sindh
    • Ensure alignment with the overall project goals and timelines and actively monitor progress against set indicators, which includes assisting the overall project and knowledge management in achieving specified objectives within the designated budget and timeframe
    • Build strong and reliable relationships with the key provincial, national and international partners and stakeholders and ensure efficient implementation of joined activities
    • Ensure meaningful integration of activities and results from other projects and initiatives such as Supporting the Implementation of the National Adaptation Plan, Strengthening Climate Adaptation and Climate Resilience in Pakistan, Introduction of Innovative Climate Risk Financing Solutions and Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management in the project implementation of ASP as a contribution towards integrated solutions
    • Facilitate integration with other sectors especially disaster risk management and climate change adaptation and build networks with relevant partners from these sectors
    • Lead and ensure the integration of gender and diversity aspects in project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting
    • Ensure meaningful coordination of the activities under each output of the ASP project in Sindh and provide support to the technical experts based in Karachi
    • Work closely with sub-contractors, providing technical support, addressing challenges, and ensuring effective coordination and oversight to achieve the objectives of the respective outputs
    • Be responsive to the needs of all individuals; staff, interns, clients, and partners, regardless of their diverse characteristics like ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age or disability status, etc.
    • Assess capacities and facilitate required skill development of the team in the assigned area of responsibility to enhance gender and diversity aspects

Requirements
    • Master’s degree in the field of social protection, social sciences or related field
    • At least 10 years of professional experience in this sector
