Introduction

PODA is a women’s rights NGO registered under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance (XLVI of 1961) working for the promotion and protection of human rights in rural areas of Pakistan since 2003. PODA’s vision is of a democratic society based on gender equity, economic justice, and human rights where all citizens can enjoy the “Right to Development”. PODA also works on awareness and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). PODA’s mission is to build a peaceful society by facilitating the empowerment of rural women, youth and marginalized groups through programs in education, sustainable livelihood skills, legal literacy and human rights advocacy.
