Dalai Lama Fellows offers a one-year fellowship for emerging changemakers to cultivate contemplative leadership while implementing a social innovation project addressing local challenges.
Dalai Lama Fellows was established to nurture a new generation of contemplative leaders who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities through social innovation. The program brings together emerging changemakers from around the world, providing them with a unique opportunity to deepen their leadership capacities while engaging in meaningful work that addresses pressing local challenges.
The fellowship supports projects that focus on areas such as health and well-being, education, environmental sustainability, cultural understanding, and human rights. Fellows are encouraged to integrate contemplative practices into their leadership journey, fostering self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and systems-thinking as they implement their field projects.
Applicants must be between 20 and 36 years old as of April 1, 2027, fluent in English, and actively engaged with a social change project or have a well-developed plan to launch one during the fellowship year. Candidates should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the community and issue they seek to address, with preference given to those with at least one year of prior experience working with the community. Fellows are expected to participate fully in all aspects of the program, including online learning, coaching, group calls, and a virtual leadership assembly in May 2027.
