Fellowship Overview

The Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship Program has announced its applications to support community leaders in using AI and technology to transform local expertise into scalable solutions that strengthen their communities.

The fellowship focuses on AI skills training and technical training solutions, along with career pathways development that connect individuals to meaningful employment opportunities, economic mobility, and skills-based growth within their communities.

Fellows also receive financial support in the form of a Basecamp stipend, enabling them to design and lead a one-day community workshop that applies their learning in real-world settings. These Basecamps play a key role in strengthening local innovation ecosystems by allowing fellows to train and collaborate with other emerging leaders in their communities.

The program includes hands-on workshops covering business development, leadership, AI integration, and strategic planning. Participants gain access to financial tools and expert guidance to build sustainable ventures, while also engaging with mentors, alumni, and partners who provide continuous feedback and support.

Additionally, fellows receive pitch coaching to refine their storytelling and presentation skills, culminating in an opportunity to present their solutions at a virtual Summit attended by global leaders, investors, and partners. Through its collaboration with Google, the fellowship offers further opportunities such as career certificate scholarships, speaking engagements, and participation in events hosted by Google’s Economic and Community Development team, with travel support provided.

They are looking for individuals who demonstrate strong leadership and a proven commitment to community impact, with lived experience of the challenges they aim to solve. Eligible applicants may represent either for-profit or non-profit initiatives that have already shown early traction, such as active participants, measurable outcomes, pilot programs, or initial funding through grants, investments, donations, or revenue. The program is suited for those ready to strengthen their foundation and scale their impact further.
