Hayat Foundation is a non-government, non-profit and non-political organization which was registered with Social Welfare Department, Punjab in 1995 under Registration & Control Ordinance, 1961. Its registration number is 369/DDSW/FSD/95. Later on, it got registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860, in 2005. Legally, it can perform its activities in all over the country.
