Norwegian Church Aid - NCA

NCA has worked in Pakistan since 1982, initially providing humanitarian assistance to Afghan refugees. Since 2007, our efforts have expanded to include long-term development, with a strong focus on partnering with civil society actors. Today, we operate in 12 districts, with key results in gender-based violence prevention, climate-resilient WASH, peacebuilding, and fighting inequality.

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Pakistan works to strengthen civil society, promote peace and foster social cohesion through a strong interfaith network that extends from the village level to national platforms. By partnering with local communities, religious leaders, and civil society organizations, we empower citizens in Pakistan to practice active citizenship, demand accountability, and contribute to sustainable development. Since establishing its country office in Islamabad in 2007, NCA Pakistan has been dedicated to creating positive social change and addressing key issues such as economic justice, gender equality, and climate-smart development. Through programs in Climate Resilient WASH, Climate Environmental Stewardship, Climate-Smart Economic Empowerment, Fighting Inequality and Combating Gender-Based Violence, Faith Based Climate Actions, we prioritize youth, women, and other marginalized groups, equipping them with tools and knowledge to improve livelihoods and advocate for their rights.

We also collaborate with local partners on humanitarian preparedness and response, bridging the gap between immediate relief and long-term development. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. NCA targets the most vulnerable communities, particularly rural women and youth, with initiatives that promote inclusive development and resilience.

With over eight decades; together with our partners in the ACT Alliance and NORAD, we respond to crises effectively while upholding human dignity, rights, and resilience. Our commitment to Pakistan builds on more than six decades of NCA’s global experience in working with faith-based actors, driven by the mission to foster peace, justice, and dignity for all.
