Introduction

The Sewai Foundation is a volunteer-based, non-profit, and non-political organization, registered under the Societies Act XXI of 1860 in 2005. The Foundation adopts an inclusive approach to education, disaster relief and rehabilitation, disability inclusion, assistive products, and accessibility—focusing on individuals from the most deprived rural communities.

Since its establishment, Sewai Foundation has worked to improve the quality of life of marginalized groups by supporting poverty reduction through Inclusive Education, Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR), Assistive Products, Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives in the Ghotki and Sukkur districts. The organization’s efforts emphasize social inclusion and inclusive development, particularly for women, children, and persons with disabilities.

Background

Sewai Foundation primarily focuses on remote, hard-to-reach rural and semi-urban areas of Sindh province. As an active development organization, it plays a vital role in initiating and supporting diverse development activities and human rights campaigns in collaboration with other organizations.

Its approach to organizational development is based on human resource development, capacity building of local community organizations, strengthening of civil society groups, and networking and coalition-building with local government institutions and development stakeholders. Overall, Sewai Foundation aims to strengthen itself as a sustainable institution with a clear vision, mission, objectives, and strategic direction.
