1. Introduction & Background:
Chanan Development Association (CDA) is a national youth-led organization striving for meaningful participation and empowerment of youth since 2006 through their social, political and economic inclusion. Over the past two decades, CDA has emerged as a national resource center for youth-led and youth-focused organizations, building youth leadership and skills, amplifying their voices and agency, creating safe spaces, promoting intergenerational dialogues with civic and political leaders, and strengthening grassroots movements through organizational development and small grants.
The Amn Rang (Colours of Peace) is a flagship program of CDA. Since 2020, CDA has supported 49 locally led initiatives of grassroots organizations and self-help collectives, in two phases, to build resilience amongst youth, women, & minorities and instill a sense of ownership and pride in their shared values to promote social cohesion, harmony, & peaceful co-existence.
2. Amn Rang Phase III: A Vision for Resilience, Inclusion, and Cohesion:
After the successful implementation of Amn Rang Phase I and II, CDA is pleased to announce Amn Rang III, which is built upon the learning and successes of previous phases. Amn Rang Phase III seeks to address critical gaps in social cohesion by supporting locally led initiatives that enhance local leadership, foster harmony among diverse groups, and addressnsocio-economic and environmental challenges such as climate change and inequality.
Using its flexible funding mechanism, CDA is seeking Expression of Interest (EoI) for locally led solutions under the three thematic pillars of resilience, inclusion, and cohesion.
– Resilience (Climate, Leadership & Community Ownership)
– Inclusion (Empowering marginalized groups such as youth, women, ethnic, religious and sexual and gender minorities and persons with disabilities)
– Cohesion (interfaith harmony, conflict resolution through arts, culture and sports)
CDA is offering mentorship and grants to 20 innovative community led solutions / ideas in two categories
· Small Grants (Up to Rs. 1,500,000): For registered grassroots CSOs
· Micro Grants (Up to Rs. 500,000): For (informal) self-help collectives
3. Implementation Duration:
The locally led ideas may be implemented for up to one year, starting from July 2025.
4. Selection Criteria:
Chanan Development Association (CDA) encourages youth, women and minority – led grassroots registered CSOs (organizations) and informal / unregistered self-help collectives (groups) from across Pakistan that fulfill the following criteria to submit their solutions
– The organization / group submit the complete application form, along with the required attachments, references, and other information before the deadline.
– The organization / group must demonstrate integrity, are well trusted and respected by their local communities, and are actively working from at least one year.
– The organization / group is able to provide proof of their track record about their past or present initiatives, relevant to the thematic priorities of this call.
– ONLY for (registered) organizations: Proof of their registration, list of members of the Board, by-laws that define the roles, bank account and physical presence (address)
– ONLY for (informal) group: List of at least 3 members of the group, who will be engaged in project implementation, with clear roles and responsibilities.
– The organization / group fully endorse the human rights principles and values to promote social cohesion, harmony and inclusion.
– The organization / group, that can confirm that its members, officers or leaders, including members of the Board and management is not engaged in any i) criminal activity, including money laundering or terror financing, ii) militant and terrorist group, banned outfits and proscribed organizations and iii) conviction or cases of child sexual abuse, exploitation & sexual harassment
– An organization / group may ONLY submit one idea.
– We encourage contributions (in-kind, volunteerism or cash) by the applicant organization / group or community, however, it is not mandatory requirement.
– We also encourage collaboration with other organizations and initiatives and scaling up of already tested locally-led models.
– One-off events, such as sports, festivals, conferences, participation in international events, scholarships for education or extra-curricular activities, campaigning for public office, purchase of vehicles and land, etc is not allowed under this call.
Important Note: Chanan Development Association (CDA), at its sole discretion, may amend the selection criteria, select or reject any ideas and or withdraw this call entirely, without any prior notice. Submission of idea, does not guarantee, the selection or grant.
