    1. JOB SUMMARY

    The consultant will develop and conduct training sessions to enhance the capacity of public healthcare providers, including medics and paramedics in Peshawar. This initiative aims to improve their knowledge and skills in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Disease Surveillance/Early Warning within healthcare facilities. These trainings are critical to ensure quality service delivery, enhance outbreak preparedness, and improve frontline reporting capacity within health facilities and community-based outreach.


    2. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    The consultant will work closely with International Medical Corps, which will liaise with the Department of Health (DoH) to obtain participant nominations.  The consultant will deliver the training with minimal supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop or adapt training materials aligned with national guidelines, WHO modules, and IMC standards, within five (5) working days of contract signing. The designed materials shall be submitted to IMC for prior review and approval before use.
    • Design a training methodology tailored to the needs of the participants.
    • Prepare and administer pre- and post-training evaluations to measure knowledge/skills improvement.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records for each session.
    • Conduct evaluations and analyze results for each training day, with summary analysis compiled within two (2) working days after training completion.
    • Provide educational handouts and reference materials for participants.
    • Prepare a final report summarizing the training activities.
    • Submit a comprehensive final report including methodology, agenda, participant feedback, pre-/post-test results, annexes (photos, attendance sheets) within five (5) working days after completion of the training.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:

    • Ph.D. preferred.
    • MBBS with a Master’s in Public Health (MPH).
    • Strong facilitation skills, particularly in IPC, outbreak preparedness, and disease surveillance.

    Experience:

    • Minimum five years of experience in conducting similar capacity-building trainings.
    • Familiarity with IPC and Disease Surveillance.
    • Field experience in healthcare response activities.

    Competencies:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Urdu; familiarity with local languages is an asset.
    • Strong written English, especially for report writing.
    • Understanding of local culture and customs.
