Introduction

Action Society for Water Supply Environment and Development ASWED is a non-profitable, non-governmental, apolitical, multi-sector, rural development organization working for the oppressed and marginalized communities in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It aims to reduce poverty and bring about long lasting changes in their lives by facilitating the process of empowerment and sustainable community development. It utilizes the internal and external resources to achieve sustainable improvement in the lives.to empower communities to become the catalysts for transforming there political Sphere in to participatory, pro-people system that is led by accountable transparent dedicated and honest leader ship at every level. We focus on the social and the political uplift of grassroots communities in general and women in particular in the rural and marginalized areas. It pledges itself to up holding human rights and dignity that comes with equality and equity in every aspect of the work it does with the communities and the people it serves.

ASWED is based on the principles of mutual respect, gender sensitivity and rights based approach. The main focus of ASWED is on the long term development of the areas of its geographical coverage, but is always active in humanitarian response whenever need arises. Our Concept of development is not limited to education, health, economic development (Livelihoods), Community infrastructure, Protection and equality of human beings and social inclusion but broader. Social Mobilization, Gender mainstreaming and capacity building are always cross cutting themes of all the interventions of ASWED.

Bring Integrated Development through Education, Health, Protection, Livelihood, Population Welfare, Peace Building and Emergency Relief that changes their lives for the better.

Supporting disaster affected human beings through emergency interventions, Recovery and Rehabilitation response

To raise awareness and build capacity of community through collective efforts in Education, Health & Nutrition, Livelihoods and community infrastructure for their socio-economic uplift
Formal, Basic Food requirement and Non-formal education including literacy
To provide a uniform platform for advocacy of all social issues/inequities at a gross root level for policy level changes
Upgrading skills and livelihood through vocational education
Assist the humanitarian community in gathering baseline information regarding the basic needs assessments on the disaster affected, marginalized and the highly ignored segments of the society. Providing analysis and feedback on post-assistance
