    The Karishma Ali Foundation (KAF) is a non-profit organisation working across Pakistan to empower girls and  young women through sports, leadership, mental wellbeing, and safeguarding. KAF creates safe, inclusive,  and structured sports opportunities for girls in marginalised and remote communities, while strengthening  local capacity through coach training, school partnerships, and community engagement. KAF works across  multiple regions of Pakistan, including Chitral, and partners with grassroots organisations, government  institutions, and international stakeholders to advance gender equality through sport. 

    Position Overview 

    KAF is seeking a proactive and community-oriented Project Coordinator to support the implementation of  project activities in Upper and Lower Chitral. Based in Chitral, the Coordinator will serve as the primary link  between the project team in Islamabad, local stakeholders, government departments, schools,  communities, trainers, and other relevant partners. 

    This role is ideal for someone with strong local knowledge of Chitral, excellent coordination and  communication skills, and a genuine passion for girls' empowerment, sports for development, and social  change. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    1. Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement 
    • Identify and map relevant stakeholders in Upper and Lower Chitral, including government  departments, District Education Offices, schools, community representatives, local  organisations, and sports associations 
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders • Coordinate with the District Education Officers (DEOs) of Upper and Lower Chitral and other  relevant government officials to facilitate project activities 
    • Support obtaining necessary permissions, approvals, introductions, and local coordination  required for programme implementation 
    • Represent the organisation in relevant local meetings and coordination forums, where required 
    1. Project Planning and Implementation 
    • Support the Islamabad-based team in planning and organising project activities in Chitral • Coordinate logistical and operational arrangements for trainings, workshops, camps, school  activities, community engagements, and other project events 
    • Coordinate with trainers, facilitators, schools, participants, community members, vendors, and  other service providers 
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor preparations and ensure activities are implemented  according to the approved workplan 
    • Identify and resolve field-level challenges in coordination with the Islamabad team 
    1. Participant and Community Coordination 
    • Support the identification, mobilisation, registration, and communication of participants
    • Coordinate with schools and communities to ensure participant attendance and engagement • Maintain regular communication with participants, parents/guardians, schools, and community  representatives 
    • Support the collection and verification of participant information and consent documentation 
    1. Monitoring, Evaluation and Data Collection 
    • Support the development and implementation of project monitoring systems and tools • Collect, organise, verify, and maintain project data, including participant information,  attendance records, activity data, feedback, and outcome-related information 
    • Conduct or support surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, pre- and post-activity  assessments, and other data collection activities 
    • Ensure that project data and documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted on time • Support the Islamabad team in tracking project indicators and targets 
    1. Documentation and Reporting 
    • Maintain comprehensive records of all project activities conducted in Chitral 
    • Prepare regular field updates and activity reports for the Islamabad-based project team • Document project activities through photographs, videos, testimonials, and participant stories,  while ensuring all required consent and safeguarding procedures are followed 
    • Contribute to donor reports, progress reports, case studies, and other project documentation • Maintain an organised digital and physical filing system for project-related documents 
    1. Logistics and Administrative Coordination 
    • Support the planning and coordination of venues, transportation, accommodation, catering,  equipment, materials, and other logistical requirements 
    • Coordinate with local vendors and service providers as required 
    • Support the procurement and distribution of project materials and participant kits 
    • Maintain records of local expenses, invoices, receipts, and other supporting documentation in  coordination with the finance team 
    1. Communication with the Islamabad Team 
    • Serve as the primary field-level point of contact for the Islamabad-based project team • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, risks, and emerging opportunities • Immediately flag any issues that may affect the implementation, safety, timeline, budget, or  quality of project activities 
    • Participate in regular online coordination meetings with the project team 
    1. Safeguarding and Quality Assurance 
    • Ensure all project activities comply with KAF's child safeguarding and code of conduct policies • Support trainers, coaches, and partners in understanding and implementing safeguarding  practices 
    • Report and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with organisational protocols 
    • Maintain quality standards across all project activities 
Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field • 2–3 years of relevant experience in the NGO or development sector
    • Strong understanding of the local context of Upper and Lower Chitral, including community  structures, government departments, and schools 
    • Understanding of development programming, preferably in: 

    o Youth development 

    o Gender equality 

    o Education, sports, or community development 

    • Based in Chitral 

    Required Skills & Competencies 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu; Khowar is an advantage • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills, particularly with government  departments, schools, and communities 
    • Experience in monitoring & evaluation, data collection, and report writing 
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a field-based environment 
    • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability 

    Desirable (Not Mandatory) 

    • Experience in sports for development, youth programmes, or girls-focused initiatives
    • • Familiarity with safeguarding, gender-responsive programming, or child protection
    • • Existing relationships with District Education Offices, schools, or community organisations in  Chitral
