Background
  • The project is to strengthen human rights practices and promote decent work opportunities for youth and marginalized groups in Pakistan's textile and leather sectors. By addressing Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) gaps and fostering compliance with international labour standards, the project aims to improve working conditions, enhance worker protections, and create sustainable economic opportunities.

    The Project Officer will support the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of project activities and will work closely with workers, youth, marginalized groups, employers, industry stakeholders, government institutions, civil society organizations, and other relevant partners.

     

Requirements
  • Education

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Rights, International Development, Social Sciences, Labor Studies, Law, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.

    Experience

    3-4 years working experience on a similar position

    The candidate should have:

    • Knowledge or experience related to Human Rights Due Diligence, labor standards, or supply-chain human rights issues.
    • Experience in textile, garment and leather sectors.
    • Decent work principles and international labour standards.
    • Human Rights Due Diligence and responsible business conduct.
    • Labour rights and workplace protections.
    • Youth employment and skills development.
    • Gender equality, social inclusion, and non-discrimination.
    • Stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
    • Report writing and project documentation.
    • Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Knowledge of relevant ILO standards, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD responsible business conduct principles, and applicable national labor legislation will be an advantage
