DEWA
Development Empowerment Women Association (DEWA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established in 1999. The organization was initiated by a women entrepreneurs group comprising of 25 no of women from Lower Dir who were trained during ILO Programme “Training & Employment for Rural Women” on skill of Dress Making & Tailoring, bees keeping and Enterprise Development. The group started working to empower and strengthen the local women through the knowledge and skills acquired during training.
After successfully working and supporting local women for 3 years, in 2002 the group decided to increase its area of operations to other parts of the district through formalizing and registering. Thus DEWA was registered in 2002 under Social Welfare Ordinance Act 1961 in District Lower Dir.
The organization started working on Empowerment, Enterprise Development and, considering the community’s needs, extended its operations to other sectors including health, education, infrastructure, environmental protection, conservation, and community awareness. DEWA has good outreach in both the Districts i.e. Lower and Upper Dir. The Organization has developed different groups through Social Mobilization.
Development Empowerment Women Association is seeking expressions of interest from reputed QCR-rated audit firms for their annual financial audit for the fiscal year 2022-2023.
