  • A reputable organization is seeking applications from qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals for the position of Farmer Organization / Cooperative Specialist for a development project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening farmer organizations, cooperatives, and producer groups by enhancing their institutional capacity, governance, business management, and market linkages to promote sustainable agricultural and rural economic development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the formation, registration, strengthening, and sustainability of farmer organizations, cooperatives, and producer groups.
    • Build the institutional, governance, financial management, and business capacities of farmer organizations and cooperatives.
    • Facilitate the preparation and implementation of business plans and organizational development plans.
    • Strengthen market linkages between farmer organizations, buyers, processors, input suppliers, financial institutions, and other value chain actors.
    • Coordinate training, mentoring, and technical assistance programs for members and leadership of farmer organizations.
    • Promote inclusive participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in farmer organizations and cooperative activities.
    • Coordinate with government departments, private sector entities, financial institutions, and development partners to support cooperative development.
    • Monitor organizational performance and prepare technical reports, progress reports, and other project documentation.
    • Ensure project interventions are implemented in accordance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • Qualification

    • Master's degree (minimum 16 years of education) in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

    Experience

    • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in farmer organization development, cooperative management, institutional strengthening, community mobilization, or rural development.
    • Experience working on donor-funded development projects will be preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in the formation, registration, governance, and capacity building of farmer organizations, cooperatives, producer organizations, or community-based organizations.
    • Experience in facilitating market linkages, business planning, value chain development, and access to financial services for producer organizations.
    • Strong knowledge of cooperative governance, organizational development, participatory approaches, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and report-writing skills.
